To preserve nature and human well-being, we have implemented various eco-responsible initiatives. During your stay, you can also contribute by adopting some eco-friendly practices.
Water is a precious resource. We have installed flow reducers on our faucets and reduce the frequency of changing sheets and towels. We educate our staff and guests on responsible usage of this resource and monitor our water consumption monthly.
We have implemented a system for sorting, recycling, and reducing waste in the guest rooms, kitchen, and offices. We limit the use of disposable products as much as possible and prioritize packaging made of paper or compostable materials. Our used bar soaps are collected and recycled in partnership with the Unisoap association. Our box springs and mattresses are made from recycled materials, and some of our furniture is secondhand.
To promote urban biodiversity, we’ve installed an insect hotel and birdhouses on the roof, as well as a beehive that helps preserve pollinators in urban areas.
To reduce our energy consumption, Hotel Balzac is equipped with LED lighting, motion detectors, and timers in common areas. We encourage our staff and guests to use heating, air conditioning, and lighting responsibly, and we monitor our energy usage monthly.
We use certified eco-friendly cleaning products in our rooms. Diptyque toiletries are offered in large formats to reduce plastic usage. We prioritize certified products (organic, fair trade, etc.) that are made in France. All our products are selected with the aim of preserving resources and highlighting French craftsmanship.
We promote the use of sustainable mobility among our guests and collaborators to reduce CO2 emissions from travel. We can suggest several eco-friendly transportation options: public transportation or green taxis, and bike rentals available outside the hotel.
At the reception, you can access the public accessibility register. We have rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility. For those with visual impairments, a specific phone and a remote control with large buttons are available at the reception. We are delighted to provide various amenities to enhance your stay, such as a vibrating alarm clock, a digital headset, and a device connected to the fire alarm system.
